Mark became director of the Center on October 1, 2009. Before becoming a full-time neutral, Mark’s professional background involved work as a labor relations attorney for over 20 years. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee and his law degree from the University of Louisville. Mark also holds a certificate in Labor Relations Studies from the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, and a Master of Laws in Dispute Resolution from the prestigious Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at the Pepperdine University School of Law, where he has also teaches Employment Dispute Resolution. Mark currently serves on the neutral panels of the American Arbitration Association, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the International Mediation Institute, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. He has served as Secretary of the Tennessee Employment Relations Research Association, chair of the Dispute Resolution Section of the Tennessee Bar Association, is a founding member of the Tennessee Association of Professional Mediators, and is listed as a Distinguished Neutral with the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution. For the past ten years, Mark has also served as an adjunct professor of Employment and Labor Relations Law at Tennessee Technological University.
